Teresa Kuo

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Prince Edward Island based Animator and artist Teresa Kuo’s filmmaking focuses on her duality as a Taiwanese Canadian and her unique experience growing up on PEI.
Sometimes her work follows a linear storyline, other times her focus is the mundane of a lived experience or feeling. Themes of details and aestheticism often appear in her work. She works primarily with traditional watercolour and 2D animation, bridging the line between digital and organic. Transporting the viewer into another moment in time and fantasy.
Teresa has produced and animated for Vince the Messenger’s music video, “Black Sheep”, and animated stage designs for Ebb and Flow: Tides of PEI Settlement, a show which she also produced. Recently Teresa worked as an artist in residency and Curatorial Intern for FilmPEI’s experimental film showcase at Art in the Open.
